Well, I can hardly believe it myself – the 2011 Camp Kol Rena season has come to an end. The carnival (which, of course I was unable to write about in vivid detail in the newsletter) was a blast! The obstacle course bouncy house was so fun – and campers took turns racing each other and even won some tickets in the process! Ball in the can, fooze in the cup, fluff ‘n stuff, tic tac toe on the flo and sponge in the face were just a few of our many fun counselor (or CIT) run booths. Daniel Cohen galantly took the job of sponge in the face and a passing by meshulach even got in on the fun! All in all it was a wonderful summer and much thanks to the superb staff and awesome campers for making it such! See ya’ll around…

Color War, Camp Long, Roller Skating Oh My!

It was a busy busy week – what with color war, our Camp Long overnight and a bonus field trip of roller skating thrown in as well. If only we had more sunshine! But as you probably guessed – the gloomy weather doesn’t stop us from having fun. The weeks are flying by and we are eagerly looking forward to this next one as well.

Guess where we went on 7-11?

Yes, we did go to Unexpected Productions right next to the Pike Place Market – it was superb, it was a blast! But then where did we go? That’s right – to 7-11 to collect our free slurpees! The 7-11 on Rainier Ave. was mighty packed as several others also came to claim their 7.11 oz cup of yumminess. The staff (though possibly not thrilled to see us) was accommodating and courteous. Can I get a woo-hoo?

Campers are happily enjoying this glorious weather that we are having. We are ever so grateful – as usual to the pool owners who allow us to use their pools – thanks again Triger/Goldbergs and Almo families! Our program could not be as supremely awesome as it is without your kind generosity!

Metro Gym

First trip this year was to Metropolitan Gymnastics. The campers all love this trip and I know why. Where else can you spring yourself into the air 10 feet high, walk the high beam, dive into a pit of foam (affectionately known as the foam pit) and practice your ballet? Everyone was well worn out (and a bit red in the face) by the time we headed home.

Well ,we’re back! Camp Kol Rena 2011 is officially underway! The sun has complied with my plans, the counselors are all shiny and polished and the punch as been made. We are looking forward to a fun filled super fabulous summer with your children.

Now let’s just hope the sun keeps up it’s good behavior.

Gearing up for CKR 2011

Although it’s rainy, slushy and a bit on the chilly side – we’re thinking summer, sunshine and good times! Of course this is because we’ve begun our planning for Camp Kol Rena 2011! Registration will be open soon and we are already looking forward to spending time with all of you this June. The CKR 2010 Season

The CKR 2010 season has come to an end. It was a super fun ride, action packed with far too many things to fit into this short blog entry. The Funny farm

Today campers enjoyed the treat of a new and exciting field trip to the Funny Farm in Monroe WA. They got to feed the llamas, pet a large donkey and see a number of adorable kangaroos – including a little baby kangaroo – so cute! Informative and entertaining – what more could you ask for?

Camp Long

Campers are having a fabulous time at the Camp Long Overnight. They ran, hiked, footballed and more. (We tired em out as best we could) . We enjoyed a BBQ cook-out due to our guest speaker, Rabbi Twersky, who made a siyum and thus, we were all able to partake in the seudas mitzvah (aka chow down on hot dogs and hamburgers). As usual, a fun time is being had by all.
